The center is locked in a race against time to be healthy enough to step out this summer in what turned out to be a nightmare campaign in Italy with Cagliari. Her club season-ending knee injury, the clubs' subsequent struggles and EuroBasket Women dreams being placed in jeopapardy, means it has been a difficult time for the center. Halvarsson is the main weapon in the paint for Sweden and enjoyed a rapid rise to fame early in her career when she was snapped up by reigning EuroLeague Women champions Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje due to some terrific performances whilst in her teenage years. In eleven tournaments wearing a Swedish vest at all levels, she has only once ever failed to average double-digits in points, helped by being a solid free-throw shooter. She is also hugely important defensively, being the biggest body to match up with any dangerous opponents under the hoop. She really is at the heart of this Swedish team, where some of the best performances of her career have been produced.
