As one of two leading naturalised options for Great Britain in recent times, Gandy was always the odd one out behind Natalie Stafford who was given the nod at EuroBasket Women 2011 and the Olympics. But, things could now change and Gandy is likely to finally get an opportunity to showcase the skills which have lit up a successful career which started at Michigan in the NCAA. She originally signed for her current club, City of Sheffield Hatters, back in 2005 and stayed there for four years before returning for a second spell after stints in Australia, Italy and Spain. Athletic and able to run the floor well, Gandy brings instant offence to the table and her wide ranging armoury was in evidence last season, when she won yet more titles with the Hatters, averaging over 14 points-per-game. She is also a hard worker and her skilled timing sees her come up with her fair share of blocked shots.
