The playmaker is bidding to step out at her third EuroBasket Women event, even though she's only 23. Whilst she has yet to truly establish herself, the time could have arrived for that to happen with the retirement of other players who handle the ball - not least the legendary Hana Horakova. Having enjoyed a great youth career, beginning with being named MVP of the U16 European Championship Women, Bartonova followed it up with a number of podium appearances. Not a prolific scorer, she brings intensity and a physical approach which manifests itself at both ends of the court. She played in Liga Femenina last year in what was her first season outside of her homeland and that should be to her benefit. It's time for her to convince and prove to coach Blazek that she can step up and run the team as the primary string-puller. She is a hard-nosed point guard that does not know have the word stop in her vocabulary  As a youngster she was the most vocal player and she leads by example. She is always going to find the a gap to give her teammates chances to score.
