 Still only aged 23 but already an established senior member of the team having played the third-most minutes at the Olympics last summer and the second-most minutes at EuroBasket Women 2011, the burden on the shoulders of Elhotova will be even larger than normal when she takes to the court in France. Top scorer in Poland two years ago with 14.2 points-per-game, she is now the primary offensive focus with veteran wing Eva Viteckova skipping national team duties this summer. A deadly three-point shooter but who has added much more to her all-round game since debuting as mere 17-year-old at EuroBasket Women in 2007, Elhotova is preparing to assume the mantle of a leader in the absence of key experienced players. She is a former EuroLeague Women All Star who has played at ZVVZ USK Prague for her entire career and in a national team jersey has learnt additional guard skills from the likes of Hana Horakova. She comes into the summer having had the most unproductive club season of her career, but has signed for another two seasons and will be looking to re-discover the shooting touch that made threw her into the international spotlight in 2004 and has been winning her plaudits ever since.
